Project - JUVESU
JUVESU (Experimental Survey for the Assessment of Juveniles) 1997-2000
Funded by the DG of Agriculture and Fishing of the European Commission, this
project had the primary objective of evaluating the possibilities of use Remote
Sensing instruments, both active and passive, for the study of the spatial distribution
and relative abundance of juvenils of several pelagic species.
A LIDAR system of NOAA was used,
installed in a CASA C-212 aircraft. The data collected were compared with those
coming from traditional acoustic systems on board of oceanographic ships and
the data acquired simultaneously with the multispectral sensor Daedalus 1268.
